Description

This 48-year-old single malt from Glen Scotia is a rare opportunity to taste its whisky from a bygone era. It was matured in bourbon barrels for 43 years before moving to a first-fill oloroso hogshead for five years and a second-fill Pedro Ximenez casks for six months. Its time in oak has left this whisky with aromas of Seville orange, pineapple and sea-air on the nose, complemented by sultana, grilled peach and cinnamon on the palate.

Glen Scotia distillery or sometimes affectionately known as The Scotia or Old Scotia is a distillery that is a producer of single malt Scotch whisky.

The distillery was founded in 1832 and is one of just three distilleries left in Campbeltown, the smallest whisky region.
